Pilot PEACE Project – Soroptimist House

Opened November 2016

In November 2016, A Community For Peace and Foundation For Peaceful Communities partnered for peace in our community with Soroptimist International of Citrus Heights to create the next safe step for survivors and their children. A ‘home base’ where safety, stability, and support can pave the way to peace.

A Foundation For Peaceful Communities and A Community For Peace opened the first Second Stage ‘Transitional House’ in November of 2016. The first family is now housed there, providing our client the time, safety and path towards empowerment and healing to help her build a permanent path to peace for herself and her children.

Soroptimist House is a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath home that provides 6-18 months of safety and stability for domestic violence and trafficking survivors and their children. This has been implemented with the support of community members and organizations. We are excited to be a part of making this a reality to women and children in need.
